KIU, Main Campus - From June 4th - 6th, 2024, Kampala International University (KIU) hosted a three(3) day ICT Training that had over 100 Academic Registrars of various institutions under the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB). These registrars were from the Central Region in Uganda.

The registrars were trained by UBTEB facilitators - Mr. Banura Pascal, Mrs Lindah N. Kabugo and Ms. Linah Claire Agaba. The training conducted at ICT Lab 4, Main Campus set the purpose of the ICT training was to equip the academic registrars with the new amended changes to the Examination Information Management System (EIMS). This enables them to understand the requirements and instructions for registration of UBTEB candidates for both Certificate and Diploma award courses in Business, Technical, and Vocational/Specialized Education.



The EIMS is a system used by UBTEB in the registration of candidates' Bio-Data and other academic documents towards examination purposes for its accredited centres in Uganda.

The training is in line with the goal of UBTEB to conduct competency-based assessments and examinations for the forthcoming sessions in July and December 2024.

According to Ms Lydia Agasha Mugizi, the Coordinator of Certificate Programmes at KIU, "We [KIU] have been accredited in February 2024 with BTV115 as centre number. Over the years, we have graduated more than 250 students from the 8 accredited UBTEB courses under Business and Humanities", she said.

"The University Certificate Programmes are focused on training young people in a bid to participate in the Board's innovations including computerization of several operations as it conducts Competence-Based Assessment (CBA) and examinations and other specialized training", she concluded

National Certificate in Business Administration
National Certificate in Procurement and Logistics Management
National Certificate in Secretarial and Office Management
National Certificate in Public Administration and Management
National Certificate in Guidance and Counselling
National Certificate in Journalism and Media Studies
National Certificate in Information and Communication Technology
National Certificate in Computer Repairs Kampala International University and Maintenance
National Certificate in Library and Information Science
